We are based in Basel, Switzerland.

Introduction

Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation (GIB) has been at the forefront of driving change in the infrastructure sector since 2010. We are uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between the non-profit sector and the financial and technical realms of infrastructure, combining mission-driven values with deep industry expertise.

Our interdisciplinary team—spanning engineering, ecology, business and finance, urban planning, sustainability, communications, and law—brings a holistic perspective to infrastructure development. GIB is more than a consultancy; we are passionate, professional, and visionary experts dedicated to creating solutions that lead to more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient communities and ecosystems.

Our focus

Our strategic pillars, innovative approaches, and ability to convene key actors together create holistic pathways that accelerate the mainstream transition toward sustainable, resilient, and regenerative infrastructure.

At GIB, we remain committed to bridging the gap between on-the-ground infrastructure development and international discourse to shift the global agenda. By implementing solutions with long-term impact and fostering participatory approaches, we empower future generations. We champion nature-based green solutions that integrate infrastructure with ecosystems, enhancing resilience while delivering lasting environmental and social benefits.

Together with key stakeholders, we demonstrate that investing in sustainable and resilient infrastructure leads to safer cities, thriving ecosystems, and improved quality of life—particularly for the most vulnerable.
