GIB is proud to announce the launch of the latest thematic issue of The Journal of Public Space.

We are proud to announce the launch of the latest thematic issue of The Journal of Public Space, titled “Safe and Sound Cities.”

This edition showcases the outcomes of the Safe and Sound Cities (S²Cities) programme—an initiative led by GIB that empowers youth‑led innovation for inclusive, resilient urban development.

Since its inception in 2021, S²Cities has mobilised more than 10,500 young people across Colombia, Ecuador, Indonesia, and the Philippines, delivering 25+ participatory urban‑rehabilitation projects.

The journal issue highlights these achievements and presents research, case studies, and insights from partners such as UN‑Habitat, City Space Architecture, the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, Fundación Botnar, Universidad del Azuay, Universidad EAFIT, and many others.
