Changhua Wu is a leading expert on climate, sustainability, innovation and green finance in China and Asia, with a career spanning over three decades across policy, advocacy, academia and international organisations. She spent nine years as Greater China Director at The Climate Group, driving programmes on climate finance, connected innovation and youth leadership, and earlier served as Director of China Studies at the World Resources Institute. She has been China/Asia Director for the Office of Jeremy Rifkin since 2016, working to advance the Third Industrial Revolution agenda and support China's transition to a clean economy. More recently she leads the Shanghai Climate Week | Global Climate Academy, an leadership, innovation and talent development platform focused on sustainability transition skills and leadership capacity built around a cooperative agreement between Shanghai Climate Week and UNITAR.
Changhua brings together deep policy expertise, strong institutional networks and a sustained focus on implementation. She chairs the Governing Council of the Asia Pacific Water Forum, serves on the Steering Committee of the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF), a Japanese government-backed platform on climate innovation, and is a Steering Committee member of Shanghai Climate Week. She is a member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Climate and Nature Governance and a member of ISSB LEAD 50 in China. She has been a Member of the GIB Board since 2015, and brings to that role unparalleled insight into China's sustainability landscape, green finance policy and the practical challenges of scaling climate solutions across Asia.
