      • Bentley Systems, FAST-Infra, and Pezco Economics are pleased to bring the global event series Twin Talks and Infrastructure in a Changing World to São Paulo in the lead-up to COP30.
At COP29, the Baku to Belém Roadmap called for actors across the system to work together to scale financial flows to US$1.3tn annually by 2035 from public and private sources. The Roadmap process mandated the COP29 and COP30 Presidencies to explore how to scale finance to US$1.3tn, with an emphasis on grants, concessional and non-debt-creating instruments. They will report back by COP30. After recent events gathering thousands of infrastructure leaders in cities such as Davos, Cape Town, Berlin, Shanghai, Washington DC, London, Toronto, Melbourne, Montreal, and New York City, Twin Talks & Infrastructure in Changing World São Paulo will convene the financial sector, policymakers, infrastructure developers, and leaders. The goal is to assess how technology and standards align with the ambitions of the Baku to Belem Roadmap and support the scaling of sustainable, resilient infrastructure project development and investment worldwide, while also establishing new commitments for the future.
  • Belem, COP30, 12 November, from 14:15 to 15:30
    • Title: Delivering Capital, Standards, and Scale for Climate-Resilient Futures
    • Vanue: Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (DRI) Pavilion, COP30 Blue Zone
    • Format: Keynote, roundtable, and Q&A
    • Description
      • COP30 will be a decisive moment for translating climate commitments into tangible, measurable progress. As the culmination of GIB’s Infrastructure in a Changing World (ICW) global event series, our COP30 presence will integrate insights from Davos, London Climate Action Week, New York Climate Week and Paris InfraWeek, bringing evidence of progress, capital commitments, and benefits of a harmonized market framework for sustainable infrastructure. In the face of escalating climate risks and biodiversity loss, sustainable infrastructure is both a solution and a development imperative. Yet, the sector remains hampered by fragmented standards, insufficient capital flows, and a slow pace of change of practices. GIB’s role as Secretariat of the FAST-Infra Label, FAST-Infra Group’s flagship initiative, positions us to address these barriers head-on.
    • Objectives
      • Amplify the role of standardization – Demonstrate how harmonized sustainability standards, through the FAST-Infra Label, build investor confidence, enable comparability across markets, and unlock capital flows into resilient and sustainable infrastructure.
      • Mobilize private capital at scale – Showcase tangible progress on financing resilient infrastructure, highlighting innovative investment mechanisms and evidence of capital deployed, while rallying institutional investors and financial leaders to commit further resources.
      • Convene decision-makers for concrete outcomes – Leverage GIB’s global convening power to bring together ministers, MDBs, investors, and project developers, creating actionable agreements, partnerships, and pathways that accelerate the mainstreaming of sustainable infrastructure.
